Join the La Jolla Cove Swim Club for our annual Scripps Pier to La Jolla Cove swim.
Swim distance is 1.5 miles (2.5 K).
Registration 7:30-8:30AM at La Jolla Shores
NOTE: Registration Location: La Jolla Shores Beach, Kellogg Park, North End
(North side of parking lot; near north end bathrooms; setup on grass)
The swim will start on the north side of Scripps Pier at 9:00 AM.

Swimmer safety is our first priority. San Diego Lifeguards will provide support including a boat, jet skis, and paddleboards.

The race will finish at La Jolla Cove, where hot food from Duke's La Jolla will be served.
"Beach" REGISTRATION and PRE-REGISTERED CHECK-IN is 7:30 - 8:30AM

There is a large free parking lot at the registration area and parking is plentiful, especially if you arrive early. You can also carpool, Uber, or have someone drop you off.
Rest room facilities are available next to the registration area at the North end of the Shores.
If you need a ride to Registration from La Jolla Cove, we will offer free shuttle service from the Cove starting at 7:15 AM until around 8:15 AM. Shuttle service is not guaranteed, especially if you arrive late.
Swimmers may leave their swim bags at registration with event volunteers , and the bags will be taken to La Jolla Cove so you can pick them up at the end of your swim. They will be watched, but do not leave valuable or fragile items in bags.

Electronic Timing will be provided by Race Wire.
*There is a 90 minute time limit for this swim. After 90 minutes, lifeguards will remove any remaining swimmers from the water.
Registration Categories:
"Regulation" is according to USMS rules. Neoprene swim caps are acceptable.
“Non-Regulation”: Swimmers may wear wetsuits, rash guards, fins, or masks and snorkels, etc.
The race will end at La Jolla Cove, where Duke's La Jolla Restaurant will serve hot food.
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st place Overall male and female “Regulation” swimmers.
Medals will be awarded to the 1st place "Regulation" male and female finishers in each age group
Parental approval is required for swimmers younger than 18. The recommended minimum age for this swim is 16.

Applications from swimmers younger than 18 must include a list of open water swimming experience and applications must be received before June 12 by paper entry only (download here)

Approval will be at the sole discretion of the event director. The swimmer may be required to have their own kayak support and/or an adult (over 18) escort swimmer. Contact info for the kayaker and/or support swimmer must be written on the back of the entry form.

An event T-shirt will be guaranteed only for entries received in the PO Box or via the registration website, by June 12 (for pre-ordering purposes).
Postmark date WILL NOT count.
Event t-shirts will not be guaranteed for entries received after June 12.
Entries after June 12 and Beach entrants will not be guaranteed a T-shirt. We always order extra shirts but we may run out of shirts or the size you want.
The only way to be guaranteed a T-shirt is to pre-register by June 12.
Registration fee after June 12 will increase to $65 and
ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES: JUNE 21
Day of Event "beach" registration is available for additional $20 fee.

Refunds may be requested until June 8 with an email or letter to the Race Director stating the reason. If granted, a $15 processing fee will be subtracted. After June 8 no refunds will be given for any reason.

This event is for experienced ocean swimmers who are prepared for a swim of 1.5 miles in open ocean, “rough water” conditions. The San Diego City Lifeguards will provide safety support, but we cannot guarantee the safety of swimmers, especially for those who are unprepared.

I, the undersigned participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby certify that I am physically fit and have not been otherwise informed by a physician. I acknowledge that I am aware of all the risks inherent in ocean water swimming, including possible permanent disability or death, and agree to assume all of those risks. AS A CONDITION OF MY PARTICIPATION IN THE LA JOLLA COVE SWIM CLUB'S SCHEDULED EVENT OR ANY ACTIVITIES INCIDENT THERETO, I HEREBY WAIVE ANY AND ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIMS FOR LOSS OR DAMAGES, INCLUDING THOSE CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE, ACTIVE OR PASSIVE, OF THE FOLLOWING: LA JOLLA COVE SWIM CLUB, EVENT SPONSORS, EVENT COMMITTEES, THE CITY OF SAN DIEGO, SAN DIEGO LIFEGUARDS, AND ANY INDIVIDUALS OFFICIATING OR SUPERVISING THE EVENT.
