About this Event
The Caitlin Clavette Memorial Foundation

On Sunday, September 23, Caitlin Clavette’s family, friends, colleagues, students, and art enthusiasts will be running in a 5k road race in Milton to raise funds to support the Arts programs in the Milton Public Schools and to also sustain Caitlin’s passion for celebrating children’s creativity and individuality, the arts, and physical fitness.
Caitlin was a Milton Public Schools art teacher who lost her life in a tragic car accident in February of 2016. A manhole cover struck Caitlin’s windshield while on the highway commuting to work the Friday morning just before vacation. This unforeseen accident left Caitlin’s family and community in shock and despair- and her art students with a multitude of unfinished art lessons, missing their art teacher. The Caitlin Clavette Memorial Foundation, a registered 501c3 corporation, was established in 2016 after this sudden and tragic event. Our goal is to continue Caitlin’s vision of supporting a community where all people support and appreciate the arts, respect and protect all living things, lead healthy lives through exercise and diet, and live with passion.

Since its inception, the foundation strives to keep Caitlin’s gutsy and invincible spirit alive. Her passion has become our passion! The Foundation supports athletes of all ages, awards scholarships to art students and athletes, has presented school libraries with countless books related to the arts, has supported the Milton PTO in purchasing Art boards to display students’ artwork, donates to the MSPCA and Sanctuary Farms for abandoned and abused animals, and with the help of Glover School students, and under the direction of Sarah Jayne, a world-wide mural designer and painter, created a mural in the Glover School cafeteria.
We humbly ask you to support Caitlin’s Foundation in this important endeavor. Most importantly, you will have helped enhance the Arts programs for the children of Milton. Caitlin lived with passion and has taught us all to look at life through the eyes of an artist and take the time to see and experience this wonderful world.

I also grant permission for the use of my name and or picture in any broadcast, photograph, or other account of this race. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, or strollers, roller skates, or blades, animals, and radio headsets are not allowed in the race and I abide by this guideline.
