About The Race
As of 2019, the Dan Scharfman run now known as the Apple Run. For more, checkout https://fbe-belmont.org/event/applerun/

The Dan Scharfman Memorial 5K and 2k race is an event that honors the memory of Dan Scharfman, a Belmont School Committee member, long time Belmont resident and beloved member of the Belmont community. A life long learner, Dan was an IT professional whose day job was helping non profit organizations maximize the use of technology. As a result, proceeds from the Dan Scharfman Memorial race will fund the Dan Scharfman Education Innovation Fund for the Foundation for Belmont Education, a 501c3 non-profit organization that works with residents and businesses in Belmont, Massachusetts to raise private funds that are used to enrich the education provided by the Belmont Public Schools.
