About This Event
23rd Annual, 5-Mile Urban Step & Trail Challenge ascends Fineview’s hills, streets and staircases. The purpose of the Step Challenge is to promote the neighborhood with its amazing view, interesting vistas and easy access to Downtown, sporting and cultural events. This is the PRIMARY FUNDRAISER for the Fineview Citizens Council to be able to offer unique programming to its community and to support beautification efforts of the neighborhood. The challenge has historically been an all volunteer lead effort to show how a small community can rock an adventure. Among the steps are Pittsburgh’s STEEPEST stairset (331 steps) on Rising Main Avenue which is the equivalent of a 17-story building!. The course covers 12 public staircases for a total of over 1,600 steps and provides breathtaking views along the way!

A lite Brunch (Bagels, fruits and creams) Coffee & Cocoa will be provided by the Fineview Citizens Council at the Catoma Street Overlook to celebrate our winners and all of our participants and volunteers.

Parking is located at the LOT ON LANARK STREET - across from the old WPXI STATION. ADDITIONAL PARKING is at the Fineview Field, located at the bottom of MYLER AND LEE STREET.
